SHORT CYCLING ROUTES

    Tour Assen | 38 km

    Starting point: Bosrand 3, Assen
    This cycling route takes you along the most beautiful bike paths around the outskirts of Assen. On the way, you will pass the meandering Deurzerdiep, the Asserbos forest, and the Kampsheide nature reserve. Enjoy a cup of coffee at one of the cafés in Loon, Balloo, or in Assen itself.
     The route can also be started from Roodewoud.

    Drentsche Aa | 40 km

    Starting point: Brink 1, Assen

    This cycling route takes you past the most characteristic spots of the Drentsche Aa National Park. Along the way, you will see various dolmens, rolling landscapes with meandering streams, sand drifts, and heathlands. For a break, you can stop at the typical village greens in Taarlo, Zeegse, and Rolde.
     The route can also be started from Roodewoud.

    Roldertorenroute | 49 km

    Starting point: Rolde, Hoofdstraat 22

    The Roldertoren Route is a perfect mix of surprising viewpoints, such as elevated ash groves, streams, and state forests. Along the way, you cycle past remarkable spots including the Kampsheide nature reserve, dolmens, and the Tree Top Path near Drouwen. The route can also be started from Roodewoud.

    Historic TT cycling route | 63 km

    Starting point: De Bonte Wever, Assen
    Take a historic cycling tour along the old TT Circuit. You will pass the TT villages: Rolde, Borger, Schoonloo, Grolloo, and Hooghalen. Along the route, you’ll find seven artworks, each telling a part of the unique TT history.
